nope!, well maybe in his eyes, some would it is a blessing, an amusement park full of statues is brought to life... literary. All the statues came to life, the culprit apparently was a castle called the Castle Of Nations within the park. The castle emits some kind of energy(life force) keeping the statues alive without it he is just a shell and must find new energy if he wants to run away from Castle. Karl was a statue in the pirate part of the park and seemed to envy humans, he had a human friend( the red hair girl) who taught him the violin. Somehow she died and so far it looks like Karl is the one that did it all though only Unknown-Person knows for sure. So he grows to hate humanity and himself in a way (don't call him a pirate!)See that scar on his eye? it's where his eye patch use to be before he ripped it out (painted on) all though he doesn't feel pain he is still ripping his face apart (Unknown has said that it still mentally painful for the statues to do that.) So maybe in a way he is cursed but only because of himself. Wow that was a mouthful
